"Graduation" & Baseball

A couple of weeks ago, Kyra's class had "Graduation" for those kids moving on to KDG... since most of her class is older, only she & one other girl will be staying on at 1st Baptist. Kyra still got to participate in the "ceremony" in which they sang about 10 songs - the majority of which were sung very loudly by my cherub!!!

Yesterday was our first "double header" at the YMCA... Henry played first & then Kyra's team played after... so that was 2 solid hours sitting in the hot humid sun, with very little breeze. Brutal I tell you - I found myself wishing for basketball season. But the kids LOVE it! Here's the Boy at Bat...

And out in left field with Brad, who was helping for the day...

The Girl before her game...

and safely on base (pulling up her shorts I think)!

This picture of Henry cracks me up - it was after his game, he was enjoying his snack, sitting next to me, watching Kyra's game and commenting on their play!!

Where Have We Been??

I have forsaken my Blog haven't I? It's all Facebook's fault... anyway, since I last posted, we've done a few cool things.

First, we took the kids to Universal Studios for a few days over Spring Break. They really loved it! I was surprised - I thought they'd like Disney better, but they had a blast. Riding in a car w/ Kyra though? Not so fun! She does not enjoy the car ride at all. She doesn't puke or anything, but she gets bored out of her mind within 20 minutes of departure so trying to entertain her for 8 hours is tough. Thankfully she fell asleep for 2 of those hours! Here are some of my favorite pictures from that trip:

Henry turned 7 in April - we had a Batman party for him... I will NOT get into it but the Batman I rented stunk to the high heavens and the kids were bored out of their minds until I let them run all around the house (inside & out) playing hide & seek. Henry however, absolutely loved the Bat Cave.

We recently took the kids to Patterson Farms to pick strawberries, play in corn & ride on a tractor. They LOVED it!!

It's hard to believe it's been two months since my last post... time flies... school will be ending soon and then we are in to summer camp & summer vacations!! Let the fun begin!!

Ammy's 70th Birthday

Last night we celebrated Brad's mother's 70th birthday party! We had a great time and even managed to surprise her a bit!

Can you tell how excited her grandchildren were to have cake???

A Girl and Her Bike

The Girl was more than excited to get her new princess bike for her birthday. Given the outside temperature, she rode it all around the house all day!

She also loved her new purple baseball glove... because I signed her up for t-ball you know!

I made this cake... well it was from a box so I mixed & baked it really...

I still can't believe she's 4... the time goes by so fast!

After she blew out her candles, we all had a slice and it was VERY good cake... and we were having a VERY nice time... until the Boy puked all over the table.

Thankfully, the cake was saved!

And Later that Night...

The kids got out Kyra's Princess Hair Salon bag and Daddy volunteered to let them do his hair... personally I think it was because he could participate whilst lying on the Lazy Boy!

However, the kids seriously got in to this and were having the best time!!

Finally, she fades... her birthday party day had come to an end.

Kyra's Birthday Party

Here are some pics from Kyra's 4th birthday party yesterday...

The girl with the bow in her hair is Emily. The girl with shorter hair is Emma. They are 2 of Kyra's pals at her new school.

Opening presents - her favorites? Princess lip gloss and...

"Pretty Pretty Princess" game - Sleeping Beauty version. We played SIX TIMES yesterday and first thing she said when she woke up this morning? "Can we play Pretty Pretty Princess?"
